The Nova Samui Resort is positioned on a steep hill around Chaweng lake, in a quiet area just 10 to 15 minutes walk to Soi Green Mango and the beach, it’s lush tropical grounds surroundings make it idea for those who want to relax and detox during the daytime away from the main strip, the swimming pool and bar area, probably the main selling point for the resort is clean and very inviting. Do keep in mind that having a room on the hill won’t be ideal for those who have any mobility issues, as there were in my case exactly 139 steps from reception to the room. Rooms are cleaned daily and pleasant, maybe a little dated, but nothing to worry about. Essentials are covered: Beds are comfortable, TV offers a selection of a few English speaking channels, the small mini bar is well stocked, a tiny electronic safe is provided, free Wi-Fi. Every room also has its own balcony you can sit out and relax to the sounds of nature while enjoying a cold beer.
Overall good value for money, definitely not a luxury resort but nicely located, just far away from the noise of the party street but close enough to walk to the beach and main attractions. Resort offers a free half hourly shuttle bus to the main drag if you don’t fancy the walk till midnight.
