MIXX Discotheque

The Mixx Discotheque is a very popular Bangkok after hours club located in the basement of the Intercontinental Hotel, one of the most luxurious hotels of the city so you can expect to see many high class Thai and Russian freelancers working the crowds of foreigners. Guests who frequent the club are quite a diverse mix, westerners usually make up the majority at around 60% then 40% Asian (including some Indians and Arabs tourists). About 60% of the ladies are freelancers so if that’s what you are after it shouldn’t be a problem to hookup though expect the prices to be higher than average.

Since the Mixx is a bit more upscale than your average disco the the doormen do enforces a stricter dress code which is smart casual, jeans and a shirt are fine just don’t show up in shorts and sandals, they sometimes can provide guests trousers for a small fee nothing is guaranteed especially if the place is already packed.The Nighclub is split in two rooms elegantly decorated with fancy chandeliers, gold statues, red carpets and drapes, the first boudoir-like room plays Hip Hop & Rn’B music, the other darker one focuses House/Trance/EDM. Resident DJ’s Andy (UK) and DJ Eddie Pay (Germany) know how to keep the room pumping and making those pretty young Thai girls shake their stuff!

Although the club opens at 10PM, you really shouldn’t show up before before midnight when the crowd starts to arrive, it usually packs pretty quickly and by 1AM things should be in full swing. Giving an exact closing hour is hard these days with the new regulations but should be aroud 4AM. Drinks are slightly more pricey then other dicos but still moderate with your local beer at 180 THB & cocktails starting at around 300 THB. Location is just a short walk from the BTS at Chit Lom but most tuk-tuk and taxi drivers will take you here for free as they earn a commission for bringing guests to the venue.
