The D Hotel is an all new property that’s been getting rave reviews since it opened in 2016 so I decided to check it out this December 2017. Location wise it’s perfect, since it’s hidden down a quiet alley you won’t be getting any problem sleeping at night. At the same time it’s only 50 meters from Soi Buakhao and its nightlife, from where a quick 5 minute walk across Soi New Plaza gets you to Pattaya’s 2nd Road, with all the beer bar action of Soi 7 & 8 on the other side of the street, just 6 mins to CentralFestival mall, 10 mins walk straight to the beach or Soi LK Metro, direct access to the baht bus when you need to get to Walking street or Soi 6 quickly. Booked their cheapest Standard category, prices are very reasonable and the room is still quite sizable at 32 sqm. Amenities include a comfortable King sized bed, sofa, table and chairs, 32-inch LED TV with a good selection of English channels, quiet A/C unit with separate fan, large mini-bar sink opposite to a sink area, average WiFi signal, large electronic safe that could fit a 15-inch laptop, bathroom with walk-in shower, soap & shampoo provided, the usual 2 bottles of water, coffee, kettle are also found in the room. Reasonably sized balcony with but no views, key card supplies electricity and A/C so can be a little of a pain when leaving the room with electronics to be charged but in this price range was expected.
Extremely clean newer facilities, floors are always shining and the hotel smells good. Amenities include a 18×8 m rooftop infinity pool with a Jacuzzi that can be switched on or off with the push of the button, deck with lots of sun loungers. Pool area has its own WiFi, good views overlooking Pattaya, really a great little area to relax and enjoy the sun and water. Only downside is there is no pool bar as such but there is a small restaurant at the reception level from which drinks and food can be ordered up.
Efficient but not overfriendly staff, clientele is made up of virtually all single western men. In the end a really good 3-Star hotel at a bargain price, definitely nothing fancy but thoroughly recommended. Have a look above for the pictures of the room and hotel amenities.
